Digital X-rays

Our office uses digital dental x-rays to provide even better dental care and more accurate diagnoses. The process of digitally capturing an image is much faster, safer and more comfortable for the patient.

The digital dental x-ray system is more sensitive than dental x-ray film systems, so your exposure to x-rays is cut by as much as 90 percent. The large, color-enhanced images let you see what Dr. Luffey sees.

We place a small sensor in your mouth. The sensor is connected to a computer by a thin wire. Next, an x-ray beam is sent through your teeth and into the sensor, which records the image of your teeth and sends it to the computer. The sensor can then be repositioned to photograph other sections of your teeth.

Cerec (One day appointment for crowns)

Cerec allows patients to have a crown, inlay or onlay completed in just one office visit! The restoration is made right in our own office. Patients love the convenience and appearance of these dental restorations. There are no impressions, no temporaries, no second appointment, and best of all they are metal free!

Solid blocks of ceramic material are converted into natural looking and well fitted inlays, onlays, partial crowns, and posterior crowns. The final result is a natural-colored tooth restoration that is much stronger than before. The restoration closely matches the composition of natural teeth. The ceramic material is chemically bonded to your tooth, so we can preserve as much healthy tooth structure as possible.

Soft Tissue Laser

Laser dentistry offers a highly effective alternative to painful dental procedures. The soft tissue laser can effectively reshape gums, remove excess infected gum tissue and remove bacteria from between gums and teeth.

Transcutaneous Electrical Neural Stimulation (TENS)

The use of a TENS unit can relieve muscle spasm, increase blood flow to muscles and remove toxic metabolites that cause pain and inflammation. TENS therapy is very effective in sensoring proper nerve conduction and muscle function only when the nerves supplying chewing muscle function are working in harmony will pain be resolved.

K7

Neuromuscular Dentistry involves the diagnosis and treatment of problems associated with the jaw, the muscles of the jaw, and the occlusion. Highly sophisticated instruments are used to find the position of the jaw where the teeth, muscles and joints will operate in harmony.

Dr. Luffey uses the K7 technology to diagnose Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Disorder and to record neuromuscular occlusion. The K7 Evaluation System provides Dr. Luffey with three technologies for measuring, displaying and storing important information on how your jaw functions: jaw tracking, electromyography and joint sonography. This objective data enhances Dr. Luffey’s diagnostic and treatment considerations with information not previously available. The K7 Computerized Mandibular Scanning Unit utilizes a magnet placed in front of the lower front teeth and a sensor array to measure muscle function and jaw position in three dimensions.
