Neuromuscular Dentistry

Neuromuscular Dentistry is a whole-body philosophy. Basically, the head, neck, back and spine must be aligned for optimal functioning of your jaw and teeth. If you are out of alignment, this could have a negative effect on your teeth. You may experience wearing or grinding down of your teeth, restorations (fillings, crowns or bridge work) on your teeth may not last, and you may have jaw pain or inability to open your mouth. Other symptoms that may suggest you are out of alignment include:

  • Ringing in the ears
  • Decreased range of motion
  • Tension headaches
  • Neck pain
  • Pain behind the eyes
  • Tingling in the fingertips
  • Metallic taste
  • Dizziness
  • Stuffiness in the ears
  • Vertigo

Dr. Luffey and his staff are committed to a whole-body dental practice. If you have any symptoms listed above, please give us a call to discuss treatment options.
